Reliable, cost-effective SNA Access

RALEIGH, North Carolina, -- October 23, 2001
Forvus Research Incorporated, provider of 3270 host connectivity hardware and software, announced an industry first release of the Forvus 3270 USB Coax Adapter, a high performance addition to the Forvus family of adapters that provide emulation and access to 3270 hosts. The Forvus 3270 USB Coax Adapter allows users of 3270 mainframe/controllers to utilize new connection methods for personal computers to maintain and protect their host networks.

This new version takes full advantage of the Universal Serial Bus (USB) available on new desktop and notebook PCs, for connecting remote PCs using terminal emulation to host mainframes via the 3270 COAX protocol.

The adapter can be easily installed on the latest versions of PCs, using plug-and-play technology. The included Forvus DFTN Gateway enables connectivity via TN3270 over coax. The Forvus 3270 USB Coax Adapter will then serve as a personal gateway to the user's 3270 host via TN3270 over TCP/IP protocol.

Additional features of the Forvus 3270 USB Coax Adapter:
  • Includes Forvus DFTN Gateway and Emulator
  • Supports up to eight simultaneous host sessions
