The program FROEMSU.EXE is used to set up your PC to to use the Forvus PCI Coax board with 3270 emulators produced by other manufacturers. The following emulators are currently supported. IBM Personal Communications V4.3, 5.0 (PCOMM) Attachmate Extra V6.5 (Extra) Wall Data's Rumba V6.0 (Rumba) NS/Elite V3.12 (Elite) ViewNow V1.0.1 For Windows NT and Windows 2000, FROEMSU searches for supported emulators, and only installs support for those that are found. If a new emulator is installed, or an existing emulator is re-installed, FROEMSU must be run again. For Windows 95/98, FROEMSU does not search for installed emulators and installs a driver which works with all supported emulators. Below are details of setup for the various emulators. PCOMM - Under Windows NT and Windows 2000, the Forvus PCI card emulates the IBM PCI Coax adapter. After installing a supported version of PCOMM, and then running FROEMSU, PCOMM should recognize that a coax card is installed, and no special configuration should be needed. Under Windows 95/98, the Forvus PCI card emulates the IBM Credit Card Adapter. After installing a supported version of PCOMM, and then running FROEMSU, PCOMM should recognize that a coax card is installed, and no special configuration should be needed. Extra - Under Windows NT and Windows 2000, the Forvus PCI card emulates the Attachmate Rev.B PCI coax adapter. After installing a supported version of Extra, and then running FROEMSU, you should configure Extra to use a DFT connection to an Attachmate Rev.B PCI coax adapter. Under Windows 95/98, the Forvus PCI card emulates the IBM Credit Card Adapter. After installing a supported version of Extra, and then running FROEMSU, you should configure Extra for "DFT/Coax Direct Connect". Rumba - Under Windows NT and Windows 2000, the Forvus PCI card emulates the NCI PCI coax adapter. After installing a supported version of Rumba, and then running FROEMSU, you should configure Rumba to use a DFT connection to a NCI PCI coax adapter. Under Windows 95/98, the Forvus PCI card emulates the IBM Credit Card Adapter. After installing a supported version of Rumba, and then running FROEMSU, you should configure Rumba to use a DFT connection. Do not change the Card type, or the I/O or memory addresses. The Forvus drivers will set these automatically. ViewNow and Elite - Under Windows NT and Windows 2000, the Forvus PCI card emulates an IBM 3278/79 Emulation Adapter. After installing a supported version of NS/Elite, and then running FROEMSU, you should configure the NS/Router for a Coax Connection. Do not change the I/O or memory addresses. The Forvus drivers will set these automatically. After adding or modifying a NS/Router, it may take several seconds before the Forvus drivers configure the correct addresses. Under Windows 95/98, the Forvus PCI card emulates an IBM 3278/79 Emulation Adapter. You should configure the NS/Router for a Coax Connection. The Forvus PCI card will display in the Router properties as an "IBM 3278/79 Emulation Adapter (Forvus PCI)".
